Another short entry this morning. We had incident free travel day from Ohio to Michigan – unlike the past two years where we’ve had blow outs on our way here. Last night we had a cookout over a real live wood fire. Warren and Shirley’s son and his wife and kids joined us for burgers, brats, and hot dawgs with all the fixings. Then Judy and I turned in calling it a day.
The trouble that we experienced getting on line at Bull Run Campground wasn’t a Verizon coverage problem at all, but a problem with our USB Modem. We know from past experience that we have excellent coverage here at Judy’s sister’s, however, the modem is doing the same thing here as it was in Virginia.
I loaded the Verizon software onto my new computer and then plugged the modem directly into the computer. Windows will not recognize the device. So, I loaded the software onto Judy’s computer and plugged the modem into her computer. Again, Windows will not recognize the device, but it did give me a message saying that there is a bad SIM.
When we unplug the router and plug it back in, we get four bars of strength which allows us to get online for a few minutes before it drops to one bar and “boots” us off line. So this morning I’m heading to Verizon with computer, USB Modem, and software in hand to make sure that the issues are taken care of.
All of that means that this will be a short entry. So, I will unplug the router, wait a few minutes, plug it back in, and publish quickly before I get “booted” off line. It should be all better by this afternoon.
Take Care Until Next Time - - - - - -
