Finally I’m getting started on the potable water tank re-installation. If you remember right, Forest River, in their infinite wisdom, used the incorrect bolting on the brackets that hold the tank in place. The bolts (screws really) on the forward bracket broke and the tank ended up sitting on the axels. Well, yesterday I was able to remove the old screws, drill new holes, and install the correct bolting on the rear bracket.
In order to drill the holes for the new bolting on the forward brackets I’ll need to remove the rear tire on each side of the rig in order to gain access. That will be today’s project. Then I will jack the tank back up in place and install the forward bracket. With any luck I should be able to get all of that done today so that sometime next week (depending on the weather – rain’s a comin’) I can finish reinstalling the insulation and underbelly panels.
Last night we had Randy & Terry and Don & Jenny over for coffee, dessert, and lively conversation. What a fun evening it was; we talked about anything and everything while the laughter rolled freely. It’s sho’ ‘nuf gooood to be back into the fun, friends, and food circuit.
As you can see, things are finally getting back to normal for us here at the plantation as we recover from our illnesses. The weather (as in temperatures) are beginning to head back toward the “seasonal” range. I hope so as Judy J and I don’t do cold very well. Alex and Katie don’t think much of it either. Alex likes to sit outside in Dad’s lap and that hasn’t happen in a long, long time.
