Hurricane, Tropical Storm, Tropical Depression, Rainstorm Isaac’s remnants have now turned east and is passing by just north of us depositing much rain in our area. In other words, today is going to be a nasty rainy day and we don’t even have to go out in it; neat, huh? Ma in her robe, me in my Js, Katie in her fur coat, and Alex in his sweater are all sitting around, looking out the window, and watching it rain while we’re all snug inside staying nice and dry.
We have the day off. We love our grandkids to pieces but, after five ten hour days with them, we are ready for some quiet time all by ourselves. Most of the time the kids play nice, however, every so often a squabble breaks out. Wouldn’t you know it? We get home and Alex began picking on Katie. There was hissing and howling and we just looked at each other thinking “the more things change, the more they stay the same.” We had to send the katts to their corners and give them a time out. Inconceivable!!! (“I don’t think that word means what you think it means.”)
So, just what are we going to do with our rainy day off? Well, for one thing, clean the house. We have just lived in it for the past five days and little to nothing has gotten taken care of. The dishes have gotten washed and, occasionally, the bed gotten made but, the floors need sweeping and vacuuming, the shower can use some cleaning, the laundry needs to be done, and there’s always dusting and cleaning to be done. Then there’s a nice meal to prepare for our dinner. Other than that, we’ll probably just sit back and read, play a game or two of Sequence, and/or play on our ‘puters. Oh, and let us not forget joining COTES via the internet to worship with our home church.
It’s just nice to be home. May God Bless - - - - - - - -
