You Just Have To Laugh

When it comes to political campaigns, you have to step back and laugh or else you’ll cry.  The candidates have had nothing new to offer.  Actually, they haven’t offered anything, all they have done is bash each other.  And lie, sheesh, that’s all we’ve heard from both of them.  If this is the best that America has to offer, we’re in big trouble.  In my opinion, neither one deserves to be POTUS.  Anyway, here’s a couple things that have brought a smile to my face during this nasty campaign.

Clint Eastwood’s appearance at the Republican Convention had nothing to add to the campaign but, did provide some humor.   

And then there was Obama’s statement at the Democratic Convention:

“Have a surplus? Try a tax cut.”  “Deficit too high? Try another.”  “Feel a cold coming on? Take two tax cuts, roll back some regulations, and call us in the morning!”

Okay, that’s enough of that; we’re all tired of the political crap but, we do have to keep our sense of humor.

Yesterday was moving day.  We made a twenty five mile move from Bull Run Regional Park to Prince William RV Park.  We like this “campground” better, however, the sites are small.  We had to park at an angle on the site in order to get our tail feathers off the road.  Also, the sites are not level so we had to get out our orange stackable blocks and stack them two high on one side.  Then we were able to finish leveling using our “new” Ultra-Fab leveling jacks. 

But, all the sites are paved with nice lawns and a picnic table.  We get good television and internet signals (plus the park has free WIFI) and the bath houses are very clean.  That’s a plus for us right now as when we dumped our tanks at Bull Run, the bath tank valve would not open.  Hopefully I’ll be able to get it to work before we leave here.

No baby yet!  Is today the day?  Only time will tell.  We told baby Fortner that Grandma and Grandpa are on hand now so s/he could make her/his appearance at any time.  Stubborn?  I guess s/he’s stubborn.  It must be a Fortner trait!!!!   So that brings you up to the state of the union here in Dumfries, Virginia.
