Alex jumped up on the bed and announced the start of our day with a great big MEOW!! Thunder was rumbling in the background and there was the occasional pitter patter of rain on the roof.
Miss Judy reluctantly arose and put the kettle on – “Judy put the kettle on, Judy put the kettle on, Judy put the kettle on, and we’ll all have coffee!!!” I rolled out of bed as soon as I “woke up and smelled the coffee!” And thus, our day was underway.
Being here on the eastern edge of the Central Time Zone gives us early morning sunrises (it sho’ nuff gets dahk early in the evenin’ though). This morning, with the clouds lingering over head, we were treated to a very pretty sunrise. “Pink sky at night, sailors delight; pink sky in the morning, sailors take warning!”
I slowly wandered over to the sofa and looked at the clock on the wall to see what day it is. Yep, it’s Thursday!!
In the meantime, Alex was sitting on the back of the sofa waiting for birds to show up for their breakfast. “Wet birds don’t fly at night, Alex!” And Katie was applying her morning face in the mirror.
Our Thursday has begun. Not sure what the rest of the day will bring, but there’ll be a couple more cups of coffee before anything of importance gets started. I guess that’ll do ‘er for today. Take care until next time.
