Today is our day off, at least that’s what we thought. After we did some inside chores yesterday morning, I climbed onto the roof to duct tape up the air conditioner shroud. Then I took my bride out to Big Boy for brunch. While we were having breakfast another thunderstorm moved through – yep, you guessed it, more water dripping off the A/C unit onto the bed.
So, as I said, today was supposed to be our day off but we’ve still got work to do. I’ll need to remove the shroud to see if the base of the unit is accessible without having to pull out the entire air conditioner. If so, then I can clean the area around the base and apply some RV Goop to reseal it. If not, then this job will have just gotten dramatically bigger. What are my odds?

Not good! Hope you can get it fixed without pulling the whole unit!!
ReplyDeleteMake sure the drains for the pan at the bottom are open. There may be some leaves or other crud blocking them since there was a hole in the side of the cover.
ReplyDeleteGood luck
we had to change the shroud on our rear a/c this winter..(yup a tree did it in)..this one is different but they said its the replacement for our rig...certain ways the wind blows it leaks into the rig :(....maybe we will ducttape all those holes..
ReplyDeleteI hope for your sake Mr. Murphy is on vacation in a far away land. Good luck.
