Yesterday was a great day. Don and Jenny drove over from Mountain City, Tennessee to visit with us. It was good to see them again as it’s been over a year now since we last saw them. We drove into Mount Airy to visit some of Andy Griffith’s old stomping grounds (we’ll add that story and pictures tomorrow). Don and Jenny have their own lawn care business in Mountain City which keeps them very, very busy so we were truly blessed to have them take time off and drive waaaaaay over here (a two hour trip) just to see little ol’ us. Thanks guys.
While the four of us were doing our sightseeing thing, Mister Hungary showed up so we dropped by Snappy Lunch for their famous Pork Chop Sandwich. It’s chicken fried pork on a toasted bun with chili, coleslaw, lettuce, tomato, and mustard. Good but messy and, as far as I’m concerned, they could hold the coleslaw (just serve it on the side). But, ya just gotta try it once.
We enjoyed spending time with Don and Jenny chit chatting about a little bit of this and a little bit of that. Jenny writes short stories about her family life and growing up in Mountain City. She brought some of them along to share with us. Her plan is to publish her stories in a book. I hope she does, I’ll be one of the first to purchase a copy.
They had to leave way too soon. We look forward to our next get together. You can just never have too many friends.
This morning we’ll attend the ACC (Arm Chair Church) by tuning into COTES.TV on the internet for the morning worship (Ten Eastern, Nine Central). This will be the second sermon in the series “If You Had 30 Days To Live”. Pastor Russ does a great job with his messages which gives you plenty to reflect on. Hope to see ya there.
Just a thought for the day. A fanatic is someone who loves the Lord more than you do.
Be Sure To Worship and May God Bless - - - - - - - - -
