Horrendous, That’s What It Was

We hit the road by nine o’clock to drive over to Alexandria for a visit with Mary and Joel.  The thought was that by waiting until nine o’clock the traffic heading into Washington, D. C. would be settled down.  Not so, the traffic was horrendous, that’s what it was.  And then heading home at three it was the same thing only heading out of the city.  Sheesh, I’m sure glad that we don’t have to live in this area and drive in that mess day in and day out.

Anyhow, it was a great to see our daughter and her husband again.  Alexandria is a neat place to live, once you get there.  They live in the Del Ray section of Alexandria which is made up of “cute little shops” and restaurants.  It is a dawg friendly community where shops set drinking water out for pups who are being walked by.  Many of the stores have puppy treats on hand for man’s second best friend (katts being man’s best friend) as well.

We visited for awhile and then Joel whipped up a chicken and broccoli dinner for lunch.  After lunch we took Belle (their puggle – combination of a pug and a beagle) for a walk about town.  By then it was time for us to join the herd heading out of the city and back to the barn.  We stopped at the Home Depot in Manassas to pick up some “twist-on” coxial cable connectors so we could reconnect the cable to the antenna.

Once home, it took me five minutes to repair the television cable and find my recliner.  Being that we had had dinner for lunch we decided to have lunch for dinner so we whipped up some BLT sandwiches.  A little ‘puter time, a little reading time, and a little television time rounded out our day.  Before we knew it, our PJs and beddy bye was calling for us.  Lights out, end of another day in the life.  It was a good day Smile!!!
