‘Twas 6:30 AM and the whole flamn damily was up and at ‘em, except for grandpa who was still snoring away contently. Alex came up and pounced on me telling me to move over so he could hide out under the covers. Katie and Alex feel that company is like fish, it shouldn’t be allowed to run around the house loose. In any event, it will be just a short entry this morning.
Yesterday we (Marc, Amie, Briana, Lola, Rocco, Judy, and I) went to the old Patterson homestead (Mike and Shauna’s) for a mini family reunion/cookout. The weather couldn’t have been better. We cooked hamburgers and hot dawgs on the charcoal grill. Judy made her famous potato salad and we carved up a nice fresh watermelon which was a hit with the two little ones. Fun times during the summer time.
Today it all comes to an end as the New Hampshire Pattersons head down the road in a westerly direction. We’ll see them again, in their own habitat, before we leave New England. Also, this morning, we will depart Northport Campground for another long travel day to Congress Street, Belfast, Maine. That’s about six miles and it will be our second shortest travel day ever (the first was when we moved from Congress Street to here last Friday).
Once we have reestablished our camp site at Patterson Family Campground, we intend to sit tight and read. Who knows, we may just make a journey down the street to sit on the beach while we read our freshly downloaded books on our Nooks. Only time will tell. But now it’s time to spend some time with the family and get our last grand kid fix for the week. Oh yes, tomorrow we’ll include some family pictures to recap the week.
