Heading Out

Well, what can I say?  Our time here in the Northeast is winding down.  Today we begin our trek westward.  It will be a bittersweet experience in that we hate to leave, but, on the other hand, we are ready to be moving on.

We just can’t get enough of the Maine Coastline so yesterday Judy and I made tracks to City Park with our lawn chairs, Nooks, and iced tea in hand.  It was another beautiful day and we enjoyed just sitting there listening to waves wash ashore, the gentle breeze blowing through the trees, and the seagulls squawking overhead.  Sail boats were making there way up and down the bay while white fluffy clouds floated overhead with a deep blue sky as a background.  It was the most pleasant summer afternoon.

Last night we had a wonderful cookout with Mike and Shauna, my aunt Eunice, and my cousin Diane along with her husband Steve.  Shauna had marinated some “flat iron” steaks and made a very tasty broccoli / carrot salad.  Judy made her award winning potato salad and a scrumptious blueberry cheese cake.  Along with some wine, it was a dinner fit for a king.  That steak just melted in your mouth; everything was absolutely delicious.  What a way to celebrate my 46th birthday (Judy says I’m dyslectic).

Not a whole lot of activity, but it was a fun day none the less.   Today we’ll be dropping anchor at the Topsham Fairgrounds for a few days to visit with Mike and Peggy.   Tonight it will be dinner at Peggio’s (pronounced Pee-Gee – Ohs) Fine Italian Kitchen – I think chef Mikelino (nicknamed Mikee) maybe on grill duty.

It’s a wrap from Belfast, Maine.  Take Care Until Next Time  - - - - - - -

  1. You know, after all these years, we have never had the privilege of eating Judy's award winning potato salad. Just sayin'.
