New ‘Puter

Just a quick update to let y’all know that the computer has been replaced.  We now have a brand spanking new Dell Inspiron 5030 in the family.  The choice came down between the Toshiba Satellite and the Dell Inspiron.  There was a $50 difference, but the Dell had a little more “horsepower” along with a couple of other minor features that the Toshiba didn’t have.  However, the decision maker was the longevity of Judy’s Dell Inspiron that we purchased back in ought six.

I spent a couple of hours doing the initial setup and downloading Picasa and Live Writer which I use for publishing the blog.  Now I’ll need to spend time over the next few days (weeks) reestablishing my favorites – that’ll be a task and a half.  In any event, after throwing four hundred dollars at the problem, we are back in business.

  1. Glad you got your computer issue resolved. Too bad the old ones aren't worth fixing but technology changes so fast it's just not worth it.

  2. Darrell,
If you use Firefor and have Xmarks add on your computers, it will sync all of your favorites to all of your computers. That way your favorites are saved and once you install Xmarks on a new computer and tell it to sync the bookmarks, they are there. Just and FYI.
