The Visit

Mike and Peggy drove up from Topsham yesterday morning for a visit.  They arrived just in time for lunch so the six of us went to Darby’s (probably the best restaurant in Belfast) for a nice Crab Melt with hand cut French fries meal.  It was yummy!!

After lunch, we did the tourist thing – walked around town popping into a few stores here and there along the way, making a stop on the waterfront for a photo op, and spending a little time walking on the beach at City Park.  When we returned home, Mike gave Mike and Peggy the two dollar tour of the old family homestead.  It was a good day of visiting, sightseeing., and eating, not necessarily in that order.

Today is shopping day and moving day.  We’re going to make the shortest move ever, from our snug little sight here on Congress Street to the Northport Campground; a whole six miles.  But it doesn’t matter if you are moving six miles or six hundred miles, you have to go through all the same hoops in order to get underway.

Marc, Amie, and kids will be joining us this evening for the start of a mini-vacation over the Fourth of July weekend, plus a couple of days.  We don’t have a anything planned, but will “make up the rules” as we go along.  Needless to say, there will be a grand kids fix (or two) and the traditional cookout on the fourth.
